Clarence Gardner Obituary

Clarence Gardner passed away, surrounded by family on March 13, 2005 in Chico, Calif. at the age of 85. Clarence was born Feb. 2, 1920 in Carnegie, Okla. to Leslie H. and Josie E. Gardner. A Chico resident since 1958, Clarence operated his own floor covering contracting business until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Chico Elks Lodge, SIRS 110 and American Legion, VFW and DAV. Clarence was a veteran of WWII serving in the Marine Corps from July 1940 to July 1946.

He is also survived by two sisters, Faye Allen Mercer Island, Wash. and Jo Grubbs (John) of Austin, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Dee and Yvonne Cullison from Chico; sister-in-law, Virginia Gardner from Glendale, Calif.; and numerous neices and nephews. His love of life and sense of humor will be missed by all whose life he touched. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
