Craig Vansickle Obituary

CRAIG VANSICKLE Craig Vansickle, of Minneapolis, MN, and Paradise, CA, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021. Craig moved from Mpls, earning life-long friends from Cooper Senior High, and traveled while young, settling in Paradise, CA., owning his own Machine Shop in nearby Chico. He was incredibly talented as a machinist, programmer and mentor, making many friends along the way. A blue-jeaned, bearded, T-shirt guy, he may have fooled some. He was the first to help load a car or give folks in need a few bucks to help them out. He loved music, gardening and animals, and was a great cook and baker. Favorite Song: Everybody is a Star, Sly & Family Stone. Listen, you'll understand him. He kept confidences, he gave sage advice, he followed through with promises, he allowed for people's foibles. Many people have said "just the best friend one could ever have." His Paradise home burned in the Camp Fire. He was woken by friends and they left within 30 minutes, saving and housing many people in his shop for almost 12 months along with birds /cats/dogs. Cots for beds, one bathroom, smoke from the fire everywhere. He didn't know some last names. That's our brother/friend Craig. Craig is survived by brother Bruce, and sisters Nina, Paige, Patti (Ted Guzman), and niece and nephew Renata Guzman Washa (Alex Washa), and Matthew Guzman. His interment was at Warren Cemetery alongside his parents Art and Nancy Vansickle. He will never be forgotten.
