David Clark Obituary

DAVID JOHN CLARK On the evening of July 5, 2022, Dr. David John Clark passed away peacefully at Roseleaf Assisted Living Facility in Oroville, CA. He was 74 years old. Dr. Clark was born in Manhattan, New York to John Clark and Jean Clark (Jean Davidson Clark-Graney). He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1970. He continued his education at Rutger's University earning a Master's Degree in Physiology in 1972, and a medical degree from New Jersey Medical and Dental College in 1976. He was voted, "Outstanding Medical Resident" in 1979 by the University of California Irvine in Orange, CA, where he completed his internship and residency. He then trained in cardiology at Long Beach, CA. Dr. Clark then decided to become involved with the American Refugee Committee assisting the Cambodian relief effort by offering medical services to refugees in Thailand in 1980. In 1986 he completed a Cardiology Fellowship in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his board certification to practice both cardiology and internal medicine, and moved to Chico, California where he worked for the Chico Medical Group, Enloe Medical Center, and then in solo practice until 2004 when he retired due to illness. Throughout his lifetime, Dr. Clark was a fan and participant in many different kinds of sports. He enjoyed baseball, tennis, scuba diving, and was an avid skier. He also developed a love for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Dr. Clark is survived by his siblings: Dick, Doug, Ken and Leslie Clark, Jim Graney, and by nieces and nephews. An in-person funeral service will not be held. A memorial service will be held via Zoom in August at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to your favorite charity in memory of Dr. David Clark.

I'm so sorry to see that Dave has passed on. I remember him telling me stories of when he played baseball in the minor league system back in the day. Even though he and I had not spoken in years. I will always remember the fond memories we shared.

As Dave's youngest brother I have fond memories of him while I was growing up. My younger son and Dave had a lot of similar interests from scuba diving to matters of social interest. We will remember him fondly.
