Dennis Hanko Memoriam

An Army veteran with a knack for meeting people, Dennis Hanko had a well-honed sense of adventure.

His travels brought the Fremont native overseas and all over the U.S. - and finally to Paradise, where Hanko died in the Camp Fire on Nov. 8. He was 56.

As a fellow biker and animal lover, I hope you and your "children" are all together over the Rainbow Bridge, Dennis. As Tamara said, I wish I could've met ya. You sound like a righteous dude. Via con Dios, brother.

I meet Dennis while searching on the internet. When I came to his house I told him my name was Mike and said I have a brother named Dennis, he said the same thing. We became friends instantly, and he came over to our house to watch outdoor movies at night in our yard. He was the nicest person to talk too, staying until the movie was finished. He was watching me build R2D2 robot in Star Wars. I was a Storm Trooper in Star Wars. So we had a lot to talk about, including going on motorcycle rides together, we both had one. I feel like I lost my brother, I will never forget him, love you my friend.
