Gino Manfredi Obituary

GINO PIERINO MANFREDI June 6, 1953 - March 15, 2015 Gino was born in Santa Maria, CA on June 6, 1953 to Marvin Camillo and Ramona June Manfredi. He graduated in 1971 from Righetti High School in Santa Maria, CA. He continued his education at Allen Hancock College, and then moved on to Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Philosophy and Sociology. On August 9, 1975 Gino married his high school sweetheart Mary (Gallivan). While attending Sonoma State University he began his career in banking with Bank of America in Santa Rosa, CA. Over the course of his life, Gino's achievements were many and he acquired numerous honors. He retired in 2010 after 37 years with the bank. Upon retirement Gino and his wife took a year and returned to the Central Coast, taking up residency in Pismo Beach, CA. Here, he enjoyed reconnecting with childhood friends Dr. Thomas Wells and Richard Martinez, Esq., Senior Outreach Associate, Everytown for Gun Safety. Their Thursday night outings were spent at the local pizza parlor which Gino found exceptional joy in. This year was also a time in which he cherished family connections in the area. Gino and Mary returned to Chico in 2011 where he continued his banking career, and for the past 3 years worked for Umpqua Bank. Gino was a member of both the Chico Rotary Club and the Elks Lodge 423, and sat on the Board of Directors for the Chico Boys and Girls Club. He enjoyed, and gave endless hours to, his community and took pleasure in all aspects of life. Selflessness, enthusiasm and unbound energy characterized his nature. All who knew him felt ever welcomed by him. Many would say, "Who are we going to get to do that?" and the answer would be "Let's get Gino." Gino was always ready to give and willing to do. His generosity and kindness affected everyone, everywhere he went. Gino enjoyed sports, travel, family, swimming, sitting on the beach, working in his garden, and pretty much everything he did. He always wore a smile. Gino and Mary were blessed with a son, Dominic Manfredi, of Oroville, CA who is currently a local Special Needs Teacher. Dominic has a beautiful daughter, Kayla Manfredi, who enjoys being in the FFA program, and fianc‚e, Anna Burns of Oroville, CA who is working toward a B.S. in Plant Biology, and step-children Olivia, Sanelin, and Jaden. Gino and Mary have also adoptive grandchildren Ethan and Lee. Gino enjoyed his family at every opportunity. He was blessed with numerous friends and acquaintances whom he spent hours talking with and contemplating his "plan" for retirement in 2016. He found joy in making that plan and everyone knew it. Gino Pierino Manfredi passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Chico, CA on March 15, 2015 of unknown causes. Gino is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Manfredi, of Chico CA, his son Dominic Manfredi and granddaughter Kayla Manfredi of Oroville, CA, his mother Ramona Manfredi of Santa Maria, CA, his sister Nicola "Nikki" Uvalle of Nipomo, CA whom he admired greatly and had a special bond with, his brothers Ricci "Ric" Manfredi and Robert "Bob" Manfredi both of Santa Maria, CA. Gino was proud of his numerous nieces and nephews all of whom he felt were exceptional and truly special. To them he was proudly known as "Big G". Gino also has many aunts, uncles and cousins in various places who were loved and that make up his family. Services are under the direction of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home in Chico, CA. Mary
My heart felt broken when you told me about Gino....I still can't believe it. He touch my soul and his smile made me always smile back. I enjoyed living on the same property as you both when you came back to Chico. I will always remember those times. Joyce
