James Karr Obituary

JAMES 'JIM' KARR James "Jim" Karr, 82, of Chico, CA, loving father and devoted son and brother, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, on February 26, 2018. Jim was the son of Otis and Laura Karr of Chico. He was a strong athlete, aiding Chico High to many victories in baseball, and lettering in football. He was a top middleweight boxer at Chico State, lettering in that sport as well. After college he proudly served in the Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Captain. He earned his MBA at Golden Gate University and worked for many years as a CFO and COO. He was an avid pilot who enjoyed flying aerobatic aircraft. He is survived by his children, Laura and Chris, and his grandchildren Claire and Wesley. He is also survived by his siblings Glenda, Joyce, Mary Lou and Joe. He was predeceased by one son, Nicholas, in 1967. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Brusie Funeral Home, 626 Broadway, Chico, CA 95928. Burial to follow at Chico Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Brusie Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
