John Belyea Obituary
Jack Belyea, age 76, of Oroville, passed away February 27, 2008 . He was born on March 22, 1931 to Dr. Austin Edmund Belyea and Elsie Elizabeth Erickson.
Jack married Virginia Castaneda in the summer of 1954.
Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He received a MA in Spanish Language and Culture and a BA in Spanish Literature.
He was a member of Calif. Teachers Assoc. and the Democratic National Party. He served students for over 20 years at Las Plumas High School as a Spanish Teacher. Jack enjoyed traveling and had explored Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe, Japan and Canada. He loved animals, the outdoors and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Virginia of Oroville; his daughters, Liz Belyea of Sacramento, Becky (Dan) Spafford and Ruth (Michael) Wright, of Oroville; his grandchildren, Tyler Brandt of Oroville, Lindsay Brandt of Eugene, OR, Chelsea and Nicole Spafford of Oroville.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 4th, 11:00 a.m. at Scheer Memorial Chapel.
