JOSEPH JOAQUIN Joseph Clement Joaquin, age 87, passed away in Chico on November 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on November 23, 1930 on the island of Maui, Hawaii. He attended the St. Anthony School of Maui, where he met the love of his life, Rose. After moving to the mainland together, they married on July 16, 1955 in Stockton, Ca. Joe courageously served in the US Army during the Korean War. After his tour of duty, he transitioned into jobs in the sugar and produce industries, ultimately opening his own business, Joaquin Produce. Even after retirement, Joe was a hardworking, active, and pious man, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Enloe Hospital and a member of Sons in Retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading inspirational biographies, working out in the morning, and watching basketball, baseball, and football. Above all, Joe cherished spending quality time with his family. While he is with the Lord now, Joe's unconditional love for his family will last forever. Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose; his children Stephanie (Mark), Sherri, Sandra (Duane), and Joe; his grandchildren Zachary, Justin (Tiffanie), Jessica (Mike), Kyler, Jacoby, Shea, Bryson and Kalen; and his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Rilynn, Bailey Rose, and Brayden. A rosary service will be held on November 29, 2018 at 7PM at Brusie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on November 30, 2018 at 10AM at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church.
