MICHAEL JAMES OLSON Michael James Olson, 16, of Orland, CA passed away on May 31, 2017. He was born to James Ephraim Olson and Marie Tessa (Billena) Olson on November 27, 2000. He was the youngest of three children. Michael is survived by his parents, James and Tessa, his two brothers, Joel and Mark, and many extended family members who love and remember him as a sensitive, Christlike person. He was aware of the needs of others, and willing to serve them with a smile. Michael was blessed with numerous talents. In particular, he played the piano well; his family was always grateful for the calm, spiritual feeling this ability brought to their home. Michael also excelled in athletics; he ran track at Lake School, and played basketball as a freshman at Orland High School. He was a hard worker; his hat and boots were a part of him. He was known for his blue truck (on which he enjoyed working), as well as riding the 4-wheeler, and working outdoors. His agriculture and wood shop classes were some of his favorites. Michael was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a source of strength and peace in his life. It's a comfort to realize that, though short, Michael's life was full of goodness. His loved ones move forward with faith that they will see him again. The Funeral for Michael Olson will be held at 11:00 am, June 10th, 2017 at the LDS chapel on 125 Modoc St, Orland, CA. There will be a public viewing on Friday from 5 to 8 pm, and on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 am.
