ROBERT LUCAS BARTLETT

Our beloved father, husband, and "Papa", passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012.

He was born on May 29, 1922, in Hale Center, Texas. During his early years, before entering the military, he worked on the ranch with his family tending sheep, cattle, and raising crops such as hay.

After being discharged from the military, he was married to our mother, Billie M. (Hyde) Bartlett on September 6, 1947. They were married until her unexpected passing on October 16, 2011.

His life revolved around being a cowboy, competing in rodeos in calf roping and team roping. He was also President of the California High School Rodeo Association District 2 for three years. He worked on a cattle ranch until his later years, when he then worked in maintenance for the Napa Junior College for 14 years before retiring.

After retirement, he centered his life on family, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children, Robert M. Bartlett, Barbara Drake, Rodney Bartlett, Brenda Hector; 17 wonderful grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his two surviving sisters, Alpha Mount and Atta Payne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home, Chico, CA.

A Funeral Service will also be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., followed by committal service at Glenn Oaks Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glenn County Senior Nutrition Program, in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
