RUBY SIMMONS Obituary
Ruby Mary Simmons, 79, passed away Oct. 7, 2009 at her residence in Orland, CA.
Ruby was a longtime resident of Orland. She was born in Ferndale, CA March 3, 1930 to Joaquin and Gertrude Medina. She graduated from Orland High School in 1948. She married Joseph Richard Simmons in 1955 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker most of her life. Ruby enjoyed watching her family and grandchildren grow and live their lives.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Richard Simmons of Orland; son, Michael Simmons of Adana, Turkey and daughter, Michele Fumasi (Dean) of Orland; sister, Mary Cockrell of South Lake Tahoe; grandchildren, Fallon Fumasi, Briley Fumasi and Theron Fumasi, all of Orland.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, 825 A Street, Orland, CA. A Mass will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland, CA. Interment will be at the Catholic Cemetery in Orland, CA.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Ruby...I will miss your sweet face! You will always be in my heart, i will truly miss your sense of humor. My sundays will never be the same. I hope that if there is a god and a heaven i hope that you are there with a cigarette in your hand and a nice cocktail in the other!
