SYLVIA RITCHIE Sylvia Jeffries Ritchie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She filled her 84 years with laughter and spunk, family and friends, and all of the things she loved. When asked one day to describe herself in one word, she smiled and replied, "Happy. I always have a smile on my face. I don't do that on purpose, I just feel very happy." And everyone who knew her would agree. Whether you were a visitor at church, a new neighbor, or someone in line at the grocery store, she would greet you with a warm smile and a friendly conversation and probably invite you out to lunch. Sylvia loved her books, her garden, and, of course, her five o'clock glass of wine. She would never turn down an invitation to go to brunch and would always accept an opportunity to sit down and catch up with old and new friends. And while she deeply loved her friends and family, she was deeply in love with her husband, Ray. She would light up when she saw him and sneak in kisses with him whenever she could. Their love story began the moment he first asked her to dance and told her she fit "just right" in his arms. And although Sylvia will be dearly missed by her countless friends and her loving family, including her 8 children (Yvonne, Michael, David, Jackie, Ray Jr., Karen, Larry, Danny), 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, they take great comfort in knowing that Ray and Sylvia's love story continues now that Sylvia is once again reunited with her sweetheart. A graveside service for Sylvia will be held at Paradise Cemetery on Monday, June 19 at 11:00am. A light lunch will follow at the Stoneridge Townhouses Clubhouse.
