Glenda Wright Obituary
Boone - 83, passed away on June 25, 2021, at her home in Boone, Colo. following her late husband of 55 years, Burton L. Wright. She is survived by her children, Terril L. Irvine and Martyn of Pueblo, Ronda L. Knowlton of Boone and Sandy L. Artichoker and Ben of Avondale; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon A. Gibson of Boone. Glenda was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Potosi, Mo. and moved to Colorado as a young woman with her parents and siblings. She met Burton in Pueblo, they married and began raising their three young daughters. Glenda was at her husband's side as he participated in rodeo, bred Quarter horses for racing and raised cattle on their ranch in Boone. They enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with their family and friends at their mountain ranch in Powderhorn, Colo. Glenda will always be remembered for her beauty, charm and quick wit. She will be missed as a mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. May she rejoice in heaven and watch over those who she left behind. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Private interment, Wright Ranch in Hinsdale County, Colo. Memorials may be made to Banner Missionary Baptist Church, Avondale. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com.

My condolences to all the family. I was fortunate to get to meet Glenda and Burton through my Uncles and Father. Both have given me the inspiration to write about the Wrights coming to Boone many, many years ago, it is such a a wonderful American story. So many memories of warmth and laughter wherever Glenda was. Her memory is a blessing and we are saddened by her loss. Across the miles and across the years we send loving thoughts to Terril, Rhonda, Sandy, and the entire family.

We were saddened to hear of Glenda's passing. We are sending many extra prayers to Terril, Ronda, Sandy, and all of the family. Our family shared many wonderful memories of our horse racing days with Burton and Glenda. Glenda was such a wonderful Christian woman and an inspiration to all who knew her. May she rest in peace!

So many good memories of Burton and Glenda thru the years of horses, rodeo, and horse racing experiences with them. Great couple. Glenda was such a beautiful classy lady. Sorry for your loss!
