James Hale Obituary

James E. Hale, 88, of Pueblo passed away Aug. 24, 2020, at home surrounded by loving family members. Jim was born Dec. 25, 1931, and graduated Delta High School in 1950, and Colorado School of Mines in 1954 with an engineer of mines degree. Jim met wife, Nancy, while both were employed by CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo, Colo. He served in the mining dept. being transferred to various mines in the U.S. And lived his chosen career his whole life. Jim was a member of AIME: BPOE #1556, Cedar City, UT: BPOE #90 in Pueblo. He had to give up his beloved golf much to early in his retirement due to Parkinson's and Macular Degeneration. James is survived by his wife, Nancy of 58 years; son, Cary of Denver; daughter, Vicki Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah; as well as grandson, Jacob of Provo, Utah; sister, Beverly Miller of Montrose, Colo.; brother, Fred Parsons of La.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special "thank you" to CenterCare Hospice. At his request, no services will be conducted. Cremation has taken place at Roselawn Crematory.

Grandpa. Ive been curious and surprised by you my whole life. When i was very small and we would wrestle. i didnt know you were so fast and strong. Until i was on the wrong end of a figure four. Or lost a foot race.
(Since then life has taught me that when you have as many brothers as u did your bound to know a thing or two).
later as i lived my life away on my own. I would often understand something better.or find it interesting because as i learned.for instance about the superconductivity of copper. I was reminded of the braclet you wore my whole child hood. And wondered what else there was to know of you and the world.
Our moments together and aspects of your character. Like your patience and love have drawn my attention and consideration up close and at a distance.
I was curious again about the choice to have no service. Surprised . but as the days have gone by Something tells me that its okay. Somehow somewhere at somepoint you just know these thing. So suddenly im not surprised. Im Grateful 4 you

Uncle Jim,

You were a great uncle with a lot of wit and a lot of joy. I can remember fishing with my dad and your brothers and the competition was fierce. I learn a great deal from my uncles on how to fish and take a joke.

I have one of your fishing rods a 1934 Little Sweat Heart fly rod that you gave my dad an he gave it to me. I have always cherished that rod.

Your were blessed to have such a wonderful wife and kids.

Dad, even though you are not with us anymore, you will always be with us in our hearts and memories forever. Through out my life I was always in awe by the way you moved and carried yourself with a quiet confidence and dignity which defined the way you lived life. Your accomplishments were many as a loving Dad, a civic leader and a gifted athlete, although, Mom always told us "your Dad can't dance." We'll always remember that special smile and caring heart you always gave us. An old proverb tells us "say not in grief he is no more, but in thankfulness that he was." Every one has a Father but I can proudly say I had a Dad!

Condolences.. Vicki and Cary .. Your father was an incredibly generous and wonderful man. Thanks for allowing me to spend so much time in your home growing up in Sunrise. Mrs. Hale, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. Parkinson's disease has affected my family as well.

Oh Dad, you will be so missed. Your loving devotion to Mom, Cary and me was incredible. You were the one that taught me how to ski, how to catch and throw a softball like a pro, how to catch a stream trout and all the nuances of a great round of golf. You were always there to help me with those tough algebra problems too. You were a strong provider for the family and deeply devoted husband. We can’t forget the delicious Sunday margaritas you swirled up while living in Salt Lake. Jacob adored you and looked up to you and we all have missed those legendary biscuits and gravy and all the board game fun we had while growing up in Sunrise. Your side of the family introduced such fun and lasting memories for all of us. You were the epitome of patience and quiet perseverance. In short, you were an amazing father. Thanks Dad, for the memories and for all the joy and strength you brought to the family.
