Ronald Yaklich Obituary

Ronald "Guy" Yaklich II
Ronald Edward Yaklich II, lovingly known as "Guy," made his celestial journey to his north star on June 7, 2021, from Pueblo, Colo. Guy, son of Ron and Jennifer Yaklich, made his first appearance on Dec. 13, 1984, at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. He graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo and received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., where he lived a life full of outdoor adventures like rock climbing, hiking and river rafting, creating many meaningful friendships along the way. In 2013, Guy moved back to Pueblo and was able to be closer to his family and friends. After many successful years in the service industry, he would go on to work in public relations at James Enterprises Inc., where he enjoyed a kind and supportive work family. Early on, Guy's insatiable energy and curiosity created space for kaleidoscopic adventures. He loved swimming, diving, speech and debate, football, acting, wrestling and snowboarding. In cultivating these skills, a carving of character traits began to emerge defining important pieces of who he was and would leave an indelible impression on all those he knew. One pride and joy in his life was becoming an Eagle Scout. Not an easy task, Guy embraced the essence of nature, making it his companion. His love for nature mirrored the depth of his heart. One of Guy's many attributes was his remarkable intellect. He was perceptive and inquisitive, with an infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor. His "Hi!" or "Hey guys!" accompanied by his bright smile were like a thousand candles lighting up a room. When he hugged you, his embrace was fiercely strong and would touch the soul. Above all, it was his magnetic warmth and care that encircled those he loved. His friends and family revered his loyalty, sensitivity, fun and loving nature. He remains in the hearts of all of those who knew him and was truly a gentle one to love, whose deepest desire was to love and be loved by his friends and family. From the joys associated with the waters he loved, to the exhilaration felt in a mountain climb, Guy defined the moment from there and he was able to touch the edge of eternity. Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Jennifer Yaklich; his father, Ronald Yaklich; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Marie Stirling; his paternal grandmother, Jan Yaklich; and his beloved dog, Kane. He is survived by his sister, Janine Yaklich (Remo Yacconi); brother, Matthew Yaklich; niece, Remy Yacconi; grandfather, Edward Yaklich; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 25, at the First Presbyterian Church in Pueblo, Colo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to PAWS for Life or a local environmental organization.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Guy's passing. Although I didn't personally know him, except as a school chum of my kids, I knew his beautiful mother, Jennifer, because I was her Avon representative, and became, I felt, her friend. I'm sure she, Guy, and Guy's father are all with Jesus now in heaven. May they all rest in peace.
