Just saw this obit - so sorry to miss the service. On December 30, 1983, Dick married my husband Albert and I at First Baptist Church - 13 & Francis in St. Joseph, MO. He was such an inspiration to me during my childhood and was honored that he agreed to perform our marriage ceremony. Al thru the years, I have thought fondly of him and Linda. Will miss him greatly - but I know he is in Heaven visiting with my Mother Waunita Jean Jennings Fisher.

Richard was a great man, and he lived with his hand to God. He eulogized my dad’s funeral (Richard’s Uncle Lyle) and had us laughing with our tears. He married Andy and me 43 years ago! His blessing and belief in us has shored up our commitment many times; his advice of laughter, love and Jesus Christ...not necessarily in that order...helped us during dark times. Richard, we will meet again!! Lovie, Linda, Holly and Shelly...my prayers are with you.

I remember being a young child at his Sermons in Savannah, Missouri learning about things from the bible. He'd bring up all the children to teach them. Those were good memories. I'm so sad to hear that he's passed.
