Dakoda Nathaniel Self, age 9 months, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014. He was born Jan. 9, 2014 in Crestview, to Reva Locke and Justin Self.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Cleo Locke and Hubert McCormick and great-great grandmother, Cleo Forehand.
Dakoda is survived by his parents; stepmother, Crystal McCorkle; stepfather, Corey Trench; grandparents, Johnny and Ava Locke, Jay and Dorothy Self, Lisa Goff, Angela Michelle Miller and Tom Peckham; great-grandparents, Nell Jean McCormick, Marvin and Earline Goff, Raymond and Opal Helms; six uncles, Johnny Locke, Jr., Teagan Powers, Cherokee Becerra, Zachary Peckham, Michael Bowman, and Jayson Self and one aunt, Windy Becerra.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1918 Old Mt. Zion Road, Ponce de Leon, beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Chris Carroll officiating. A time of visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Committal services followed at Evergreen Baptist Cemetery in Westville. Flowers are being accepted.
