Grace Eldridge

1934 - 2020

Grace Tate Eldridge, of the Prosperity Community, entered her heavenly home on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Signature Healthcare, Graceville, Florida. Mrs. Eldridge was born on May 3, 1934 to Dock and Ednar Tate.
Mrs. Eldridge was a devoted Christian and a member of Reedy Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for family and friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Anyone that knew her could tell you if you stopped by her house, you never left hungry. Mrs. Eldridge was a school bus driver for Ponce de Leon for many years until her retirement in 2000.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Eldridge is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mr. Lee Lloyd Eldridge.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Jeanette Brown, her brothers Bill Tate, Jim Tate, Dock Tate, Jr., and James Tate.
Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her children, Jerry Eldridge and significant other Marla Crutchfield of Prosperity, Florida; Gary Eldridge of Prosperity, Florida; and Sharon Miller and significant other Marty Brake of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her grandchildren, Kristy Wade (Roy) of Leonia, Florida; Brandon Eldridge (Amanda) of Ponce de Leon, Florida; Alexandra Salami (Muhammed) of Stuttgart, Germany; Wyatt Miller of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Jessica Glover (Nick) of Ponce de Leon, Florida; and Sommer Brake of Tennessee. Mrs. Eldridge is also survived by one brother, Charles (Chick) Tate; one sister, Ethel Gillman Mixon; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation was held Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. Funeral services were held Monday, July 27, 2020 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Davis Watkins Funeral Home with Reverend Clyde Smith officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Westville, Florida.
