Henry Charles Pittman Obituary

Henry Charles Pittman, 48, of Greenwood, formerly of Jacob City died Nov. 16 in Jackson Hospital in Marianna. He was born March 24, 1961 in Buffalo, NY and attended the Erie County public school in his early years. He also attended Jackson County public schools system and graduated from Graceville High School. He enlisted in the US Army, serving two terms of military service as a telecommunications specialist and then served two years in the Texas Lone Star National Guard before returning home to Jackson County. He was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church.
His father Hebrew Pittman preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Gladys Godwin Pittman of Greenwood; his mother Willie B. Jones Bostic of Campbellton; siblings, Mitchell Bowden and wife Kay of Baltimore, Md.,
Gloria Roulhac and husband Victor, Michael Anthony Pittman and wife Lucy, Thomas Jerome, all of Jacob City, James D. Miller Jr. and wife Lori of Campbellton, TSGT Bob Allen Bostic and wife Chastity of Okinawa, Japan (US Air Force) and Charles Anthony Bostic of Campbellton; stepchildren, Gloria Groomes, Ira Godwin, Carolyn Avans, John Godwin, Bryant Godwin, Freder Godwin, Mary Baldwin, Efrom Godwin, Lecia Godwin, Randy Godwin, Andy Godwin, Requal Godwin and Shannon Godwin; three great-aunts,
Gladys Merdith, Ardelia Blount and Dora Bell Henderson, all of Jacob City; one great-uncle, Joe Pittman of Dana; avery special cousin in Buffalo, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 21 at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Jacob City with the Revs. George E. Bowers Sr. and L.V. Farmer officiating, Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.
