Revis Robert "Robby" Brown Obituary

Revis Robert "Robby" Brown, 52, died Oct. 10, 2009 after a courageous battle against bone cancer. He was born in Panama City and is was a 1975 graduate of Marianna High School, and attended Chipola College. He was as a firefighter/EMT at Jackson County Fire Rescue (JCFR), and briefly interrupted it to relocate to Texas to work at an oil field. He returned to Marianna and rejoined JCFR, and eventually progressed to the rank of captain. He married Karen Toole on March 16, 1985. He retired as JCFR chief in 2006, and became administrative chief with Nature Coast Emergency Medical Services in Citrus County. He was full of humor, an avid golfer, enjoyed sports, and loved to travel with his family and friends. He was a member of Caverns Road Church of Christ in Marianna, and attended Pleasant Grove Road Church of Christ in Inverness.
His parents, Judge Robert Revis Brown, Sr. in 1984 and Carol R. Brown in 2009, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Toole Brown, of Graceville; his daughter, Laramie Brown; two sisters, Katie Schardl of Tallahassee and Joan Kaplan of Clermont; one niece; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Toole; brother-in-law, Buddy Toole; sisters-in-law Tami Toole and Tara Hatcher all of Graceville.
Funeral services were Oct. 14 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
