EAU CLAIRE - Alice R. Williams, 82, of the Comforts of Home, 1220 Pumphouse Rd., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
She was born April 8, 1926, in Bloomer to Theresa (Nazer) and Fred Gehl. She was raised in the Bloomer area and attended town of Auburn School. She married Milford R. Williams on Oct. 11, 1947, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bloomer. She has resided in Chippewa Falls since that time.
Alice was employed at Hotel Northern for 20 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronald (Vicki) Williams of Eden Prairie, Minn. and Daniel Williams of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Caroline Severson of Sun Prairie and Adeline Horbach of South St. Paul; two grandsons, Scott Johnson of Eau Claire and Jeffrey Williams of Chippewa Falls; three granddaughters, Jessica and Amber Williams of Chippewa Falls and Nicole Johnson of Eau Claire; two great-granddaughters, Paige Williams and Katlin Robinson; other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Milford on Oct. 6, 1985; a daughter Judy Johnson; a son in infancy; two sisters, Lorna Hagedorn and Mildred Loew; five brothers, John, Herman, Raymond, Fred and Henry Gehl.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Paul of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
