Alyda W. Krejci, 88, of Chippewa Falls, passed away at her home on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.
She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Bloomer, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Faschingbauer) Hepfler.
Alyda married Edward W. Krejci on Jan. 22, 1942, and raised their family in Chippewa Falls. Alyda and Ed owned Ed's Boot and Shoe Store, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Charles Parish, P.C.C.W. of St. Charles, U.C.T. and the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #1038.
Alyda was a wonderful baker, sewer and embroiderer, and she will always be remembered for her holiday decorating. She loved auctions and antique stores, and was always searching for that special violet dish to add to her collection. She especially loved her house in the woods, and she was grateful to her family and caregivers for helping her remain there throughout her illness.
Alyda is survived by: her children, Carol Lee (Michael) Smoczyk of Marshfield, Sue (Gary) Shadof of Madison, Mark (Sue) Krejci of Ottawa Lake, Mich., and Nancylee Krejci (Roger Livingston) of Strum; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Lee (Jackie) Hepfler of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Edith Siverling of Ladysmith; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Krejci of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ed; her parents; one brother, Ralph; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose (Leonard) Ruff, Leona (Albert) Siverling, Esther (Leonard) Samens, Mona (Ray) Bekken and Walter Silverling.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden.
Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday, Sept. 14. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
