Ann Schesel, 100, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Oakwood Villa, Altoona.
Ann was born June 16, 1913, in Weyerhauser, the daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Czelkalski) Jessick. She grew up in the Weyerhauser area, attending area schools. On June 1, 1937, she was united in marriage to Carl Schesel at St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Weyerhauser. The couple worked for a while at the Stanley Bakery before moving to the Town of Edson where they farmed for many years. In 1992 she moved to Stanley where she has resided ever since.
Ann enjoyed sewing, making hundreds of quilts, and also baked and decorated many wedding cakes. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, of which she was a PCCW member. She also belonged to the Delson Homemakers for 50 years.
Ann is survived by: her daughter, Lois (Ron) Witt of Stanley; grandchildren, Rhonda (Jay) Anderson of Wausau; Robin (Jeff) LeMay of Chippewa Falls, Renee (Tim) Mahal of Stanley, Raychel (Kevin) Gilbreath of Green Bay, Carly and Abby Schesel, both of Chippewa Falls; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Kowalski and Lucy Klawiter both of Weyerhauser.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Carl; son, Charles; and brothers, Joseph, John and Frank Jessick; sisters, Sophie Daniels, Mary Meznarich, and Agnes Krupa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, with Fr. William Felix officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.
