Carol A. Jacobson, 84, of the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 7754 35th St., Colfax, town of Howard, Albertville area, died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Elk Mound to Pearl (Norton) and Albert Kohnke. She graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1939. She moved to Eau Claire, where she attended vocational school.
Carol married Laurence J. Jacobson on Feb. 14, 1944, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. After their marriage, they resided in the town of Howard. She became a resident of the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Nov. 2001.
She is a member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, town of Wheaton, where she taught Sunday School and was secretary of the Hope Circle for many years. She also had been a member of the Albertville Homemakers.
Survivors include: a daughter, Rosemary (Larry) Schindler of Colfax; a son, Gary (Doris) Jacobson of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Scott Jacobson of Germantown, Md., Brian (Lauri) Jacobson of Eau Claire, Lisa Marie (Patrick) O'Connor of Santa Monica, Calif., Michelle Renee (Michael) Weber of Wales, Wis., Glen Jacobson of Chicago, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Seth, Nicholas, and Noah Jacobson, Hunter and Reese Weber; five step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, on May 10, 1982; her parents; a daughter in infancy; and one brother, Wilbert Kohnke.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, town of Wheaton, with the Rev. Hal Schroetter and the Rev. Fr. Robert Hoekstra, Chaplain of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community officiating. Burial will follow at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
