SOLON, Iowa - Charles J. "Chuck" Misfeldt, 74, of 1388 Hickory Hollow Rd. in Solon, Iowa died Tuesday April 10, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Chuck was born on June 1, 1932, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Charles and Hallie Graham Misfeldt. He met his wife, LaVonne in high school and they were married on June 9, 1951, in Chippewa Falls.
Chuck began his career at Square D working in the shop and at the time of his retirement after 40 years, he was the materials manager for plants in both Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Columbia, Mo. Chuck proudly served his country as part of the First Calvary Division during the Korean War.
Chuck was a wonderful provider, husband, father and friend. His passion was his family and friends and he loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, camp and be outside and did an amazing job of combining his passions and his loves during his entire life. Camping trips, parties, and travels will be remembered by all. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. We love you Papa, dad and husband.
Survivors include: his wife, LaVonne; two sons, Tim and his wife, Lynn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Tom and his wife Cathy of Palo, Iowa; and a daughter, Susan Misfeldt of Solon. He is also survived by: six grandchildren, Tim, Lindsey, Jessica, Abbie, and Adam Misfeldt, Nicole (Dustin) Fadiga; two great grandchildren, Carter and Mackenzie Fadiga; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; five brothers, Dale, Tim, Frank, Kenny, Ross; and one sister, Wanda.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
