David Aspen Obituary

David Carl Aspen

David Carl Aspen, age 85, passed away on October 29, 2023, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

David was born on June 12, 1938, in the township of Red Cedar, Dunn County, Wisconsin, to the parents, Oscar and Florence Aspen. He graduated from Colfax High School in Colfax, Wisconsin on May 20, 1955. After high school. he joined the US Army and served from October 1955 to October 1958, where he was stationed in Germany. David left the Army with an honorable discharge with the rank of Sargent. While in the service, David married in 1957, and had a son Johnny, although they later divorced in 1970.

Upon returning from the service, he purchased a farm in Menomonie, Wisconsin where he was very successful from 1958-2000. After retiring from farming, he moved to Trego, Wisconsin and his love of hunting really picked up the pace!

David is survived by children: John (Barb) Aspen, Renate (David) Gale, Teresa Edvalson and Dennis (Kathy) Aspen; sisters: Lanna (Ray) Linberg and Marie (Leon) Berenschot; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full Military Honors will be conducted at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Highway 53 in Washburn County in the Spring of 2024.
