STANLEY - Dorothy A. Yeager, 81, longtime town of Delmar resident passed away at The Homeplace in Stanley, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008.
Dorothy was born June 18, 1927, in Harrison, the daughter of Adrian and Marie (Vander Sanden) Amelse. She grew up on the home farm in Ludington, graduating from McDonell High School. She was then employed as a stenographer at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
On June 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Leo Yeager at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided and farmed in the town of Delmar until 1985 when Leo passed away.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grand children, solving puzzles, reading and gardening.
Dorothy is survived by: her children, Thomas (Debbie) of Stanley, Kenneth of Gilman, Daniel (Julie) of Boyd, Jane (Wayne) Ackley, and Kathy Greene both of Chippewa Falls, Judith (Steven) Weiland of Cadott, and Donna (Chris) Elstran of Cadott, Carolyn (Dennis) Bourget of Boyd, Virginia Yeager of Cadott; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Adriana Amelse of St. Paul, Minn. and Mary Ann (Pete) Speckien of Eau Claire; and five brothers, Cornelius Amelse of Fall Creek, John (Kay) Amelse of Hayward, Richard (Diane) Amelse of Sun Prairie, Lawrence (Ginny) Amelse of St. Paul, Minn. and Peter (Mary) Amelse of Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Leo on Nov. 17, 1985; sister Elizabeth, and brothers, Anthony, Rudolph, Gerald, and Edward.
A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, with a 7:30 Rosary being recited.
