Dylan Crosby Obituary

A friend so gracefully wrote, "If there was ever anyone who seized the day more than Dylan Crosby, I dare you to show me."

Dylan Crosby, 26, of Rifle, Colo. and formerly from Cornell, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.

Dylan, son of Dick and Lori Crosby and brother of Nicole Crosby (Matt Waldusky), was born in Lake City, Minn.

Dylan will be greatly missed by his adoring extended family as well: grandparents Bob and Betty Crosby, Charlie and Sylvia Kriett, Bob and Bev Kennebeck, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a whole lotta crazy, awesome friends.

Dylan graduated from Cornell High School and attended WITC in Rice Lake for welding. He was a successful self-employed welder for Flint Energy in Rifle, Colo. Dylan spent his time living life in full throttle, coining phrases like, "hard tellin', not knowin'." Racing quads, snowmobiling, rock crawling, skiing, gun collecting and laughing were among his passions.

Dylan's passions were one small part of his life, however, as his generosity outshined them all. Dylan genuinely paid it forward with his friends, family and even complete strangers. It is certain that he is now flying high with wings powered by a Duramax diesel.

A celebration of Dylan's life will be held at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a short prayer service at 2 p.m. A gathering will be held at the Crosby house (22705 Hwy. R, Jim Falls, WI 54748) after the services. It is very important to the family that everyone join them after the service at the house as they continue to honor Dylan's life. Please come if you are able.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be given to a cause near and dear to Dylan's heart. It will be paid forward, very genuinely. Memorials may be directed toward the Dylan Crosby Pay it Forward Fund.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a Ride!" - Hunter S. Thompson
