MONDOVI -- Elnora M. Goss, 82, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.
She was born April 24, 1921, in Taylor, the daughter of William and Eunice (Nelson) Tollefson. She was the oldest of five children and was raised in the Taylor area where she attended Taylor area schools.
Elnora married Glen D. Goss on June 8, 1940, at Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Mondovi. They farmed in Naples Township until 1978 when they moved to Mondovi on South Washington Street. She and Glen were active in the Altar Guild at Zion Lutheran, being very particular about the church altar. While they were still farming, Elnora helped with haying, milking and did lots of preserving food for winter. She and Glen were always taking in people that were down on their luck. The last few years they made lefse for many people in the Mondovi area and even sent some out of state. Glen died on April 8, 2001.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi.
She is survived by: three sons, Gale (Judy Cushman) Goss of Mondovi, Roger (Judylynn Voss) Goss of Chippewa Falls, John (Margaret Hagenbarth) Goss of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Gordon (Vicky) Goss, Kim (Terry) McGee, Mitchell (Jill) Goss, Jennifer Goss, all of Mondovi, Kenneth (Tammy) Goss of Mondovi, Chad (Michelle) Goss of Chippewa Falls, Tina (Roger) LaPorte, Tammy (Tom) Yuhas of Mondovi; 15 great-grandchildren, Nick, Cody and Cameron McGee, Justin and Andy Goss, Lyndsay Goss, Trever and Jocelyn Caturia, Jesse and Elena Pantoja, Beth, David and Brittany Schreiner, Richard McElroy, Shyla LaPorte; one sister, Wilma Peterson of Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Julian Tollefson of Hoyt Lake, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Blanche Bernhardt of Portland, Ore.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Vera and Lois; and one great-grandson, Jeremy Goss.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi with the Rev. Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Poeschel Funeral Home in Mondovi. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
