STANLEY - JoAnn M. Bergman, 70, of Stanley ended life's journey at her home on Monday, May 19, 2008.
JoAnn was born June 4, 1937, in Spring Green, the daughter of Lucille (Weiss) and Alvin Ringelstetter. She graduated from Sauk City High School and was then united in marriage to Earl F. Bergman on Aug. 25, 1956, in Sauk City.
They resided in Waunakee and moved to Stanley in 1963, where they raised their 10 children. They moved out to Otter Lake, rural Stanley, in 1981.
JoAnn was employed at the Stanley IGA, Zastrow's Care Center, Gilman, and currently at Riverview Manor, Cadott.
She was a member of the Otter Lake Boosters Club and had a great love of nature and her pets. She enjoyed the Packers, Badgers, fishing and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress and baker and loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. She cherished her time spent with her children, special friend Bob Kroeplin and his family, and her friends and the residents at Riverview Manor.
Joann is survived by: her children, daughter Cindy Hintz of Eau Claire, son Leonard (Jocelyn Hatleli) Bergman of Cornell, daughter Rayne (Lyle) Sonnentag of Chippewa Falls, daughter Sandra (Gale) Tuggle of Pagosa Springs, Colo., daughter Brenda (David) Peterson of Boyd, son Bernie (Erin) Bergman of Stanley, daughter Becky (Joel) Herring of Mosinee, daughter Linda (Kent) Pilgrim of Wausau, and daughter Tracy (Jeff) Selk of Willard; grandchildren Lacey and Kendra Hintz, Brianne (Bergman) Karbon and Jenny and Lindy Bergman, Eric and Trenton Sonnentag, Douglas and Daniel Harycki, Matt and Laurie Peterson, Steven, Dustin, Randi Bergman, Sarah Dahl and Stacey Hedrick, Shelby and Jaret Harring, Bryn and Evan Pilgrim, Trista and Kevin Christdorf Jr. and Thomas Selk; great grandchildren Kiyon, Amahgiyon and Dajiyon Murphy, Rhetta Grace Karbon; siblings Ralph Ringelstetter, Marlene (Ringelstetter) Don Rueter, Sylvia (Ringelstetter) Hall, Donald and Sally Ringelstetter and James and Trish Ringelstetter.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Earl; and son, Gayle Bergman.
JoAnn was a shoulder to lean on, a kind word to share, a wife, mother, grandmother, a great-grandmother and a friend.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with grandsons Matt Peterson, Eric Sonnentag, Douglas Harycki, Steven Bergman, Kevin Christdorf Jr. and Nathan Samplawski serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley.
