Joseph Franz Obituary

Joseph G. Franz, 86, a resident of the Rutledge Home Assisted Living and Memory Care, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at the home.

He was born March 27, 1923, in Tilden, the son of Rudolph and Sophia (Lang) Franz.

Joe had worked for Huntszinger Farms Inc. and Eau Claire County.

He is survived by: two brothers, Jerry and Arnold Franz, both of Bloomer; one sister, Sister Mary Arnold, S.S.N.D. of Milwaukee; and three sisters-in-law, Irma and Sylvia Franz, both of Chippewa Falls, and Marcella Franz of Eau Claire.

Joe was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Robert, Norbert, Sylvester "Trig" and Marvin Franz; two sisters, Elsie Kocian and Sister Mary Edna, S.S.N.D.; one brother-in-law, Perry Kocian; and two sisters-in-law, Marlene Franz and Wanda Franz.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at St. Peter's Church, Tilden. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Tilden.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19 and until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
