Keith Yarrington Obituary

Keith B. Yarrington

July 27, 1959 - August 12, 2025

Keith B. Yarrington, 66, of Eau Claire, died at home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

On July 27, 1959, Keith was born to Bennett and Elizabeth (Anderson) Yarrington, in Lake Hallie. He earned his GED from St. Bede's and married Tammy Crowell. He worked at Cascade (formerly Pope and Talbot) for 46 years until his retirement. Keith knew the inside of a paper making machine like the back of his hand.

When he wasn't working, you would always catch him doing something outside, whether it be throwing a fishing line, deer hunting, admiring his flowers and gardening, tending to his oriole and hummingbirds, or manicuring his immaculate lawn.

Keith was an excellent cook, who excelled at grilling anything, especially steaks, a gift which he imparted to all three of his children. His knack for the perfect blueberry cheesecake and secret ingredient spaghetti will always be remembered.

Keith enjoyed reading, spending many days reading the Bible, and would call his family and friends to serenade them with scripture, or a quick guitar song he had been working on. Keith attended Valleybrook Church where he basked in the glory of God and would follow his day of rest with some top-notch knick-knack shopping.

Keith treasured his time with long-time partner Lori, Buttercup, his friends, and especially his family. Keith was a proud grandpa of four beautiful grandchildren who he touted to anyone who would listen. He would challenge you to a game of 500 Rummy at any opportunity, and should you accept, had a pretty decent chance of losing after the "duces became wild" mid-game.

After a hard day, Keith would finish the day off with a glass of ice-cold milk and just 'rest his eyes for a little bit', before falling asleep. Keith will be dearly missed by his surviving loved ones.

Keith is survived by his father, Bennett H. Yarrington of Eau Claire; children, Jaryd (Sabrina) Yarrington of Eau Claire; daughter, Melissa Yarrington (Ben) of Wausau; grandchildren, Clayton, Haliegh, Brycen, and Brayden; brother, Larry (Barb) Yarrington of Elmwood; daughter-in-law, Heather; brother-in-law, Rick (Vicki) Rineck; and former wife, Tammy (Ken) Spuhler; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Yarrington; son, Bryan Yarrington; siblings, Joy Rineck, Carol Carmen and Delbert "Del" Yarrington; and longtime partner, Lori Lunderville.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 16, at Pederson Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. The interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery in the village of Lake Hallie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family that will be donated to a charity dear to Keith's heart.
