Kenneth C. Eder, 69, passed away at his home in Circle Pines, Minnesota, on Oct. 4, 2014.
He was born in Bloomer to Eugene and Emily (Meinen) Eder on June 15, 1945. Ken grew up on his parent's farm and resided there until June of 1963. He attended St. Peters Catholic School in Tilden and graduated from McDonell High School in Chippewa Falls. Ken then entered the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years until his honorable discharge.
Ken was an inventor and electronics technician. For most of his working career, he was employed by Honeywell in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
He is survived by: his father, Eugene Eder of Chippewa Falls; three sisters, Lois (Spence) Albertson of Danbury, Marilyn (Tim) Gerrits of Golden Valley, Suzanne (Bill Mathe) Eder of Eau Claire; and nieces, nephews, many cousins; and by his long-time friend, Mel "Bud" Pothan.
Ken was preceded in death by: his mother, Emily Eder; maternal grandparents, Louis and Mary Meinen; paternal grandparents, John and Theresa Eder; and a nephew, Craig Albertson.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer with Deacon Richard Kostner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military Honors conducted by the Bloomer American Legion & VFW will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date in St. Paul's South Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.
Memorials are preferred to McDonnell High School in Chippewa Falls.
