Richard Muenich Obituary

Richard Frank Muenich, age 79, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Born in Chippewa Falls to Frank and Ellen Muenich, Richard was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, dedicated community member, and longtime professional in the office furniture industry. He served on the Hudson School Board and was instrumental in supporting local education. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time with family.

He was preceded in death by his son Rick Muenich; grandson Nathan Muenich; parents Frank and Ellen Muenich; brothers-in-law John Klawitter, John Gehring, and Tom Oas; and in-laws Howard and Dorothy Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patti; children Michelle de Blok (Jos), Jason (Bridget) Muenich, and Rick Muenich; grandchildren Madeline Nelson (Devin Buckley), Anja Michels, Michael Muenich (Alyssa Manno), and Alex Muenich; siblings Mary Klawitter, Sharon Oas, Kay Gehring, and Carmen Muenich; sisters-in-law Jody Miranda and Dianne (Bill) Hale; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Hudson, Wisconsin, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at 1:30 PM at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson.

Arrangements are entrusted to O'Connell Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hudson, Wisconsin.
