Lyle P. Sonnentag
CHIPPEWA FALLS - Lyle P. Sonnentag, age 64, of Chippewa Falls, passed away suddenly December 30, 2023.
He retired in 2022 from Conagra Foods after a 30+ year career.
He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and playing pool. In the spring months he could be found helping collect sap from tapped trees to make maple syrup that kept a family tradition alive. In the same woods he would spend the week of rifle hunting season each year. Nights in the family hunting cabin would be filled with rousing games of Sheepshead with family and friends.
Spending time with the people in his life was most important to him and holidays were always spent around loved ones. He also enjoyed quiet time at home, reading books from authors like Clive Cussler and John Jakes.
He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Leona, brothers: Barry and Thomas; and sister, Faye. Survived by wife, Rayne; sons: Eric (Kalyn) and Trent (Katie); siblings: Diane, Karen, Judy (Dale), Donna (Sean) and Alan (Angie); many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 117 Allen St., Chippewa Falls, WI with Father Brandon Guenther officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.
A Visitation was held from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, with a 4:30 PM Vigil Prayer Service on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Leiser Funeral Home, 511 N. Main St., Cadott, WI and a visitation will also be one hour prior to the Funeral Mass Thursday morning at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
