EAU CLAIRE - Michael Duss, 52, former town of Delmar resident, passed away peacefully at his home in Eau Claire.
Michael was born July 8, 1954, in Boyd, the son of Fernando and Romilda (Vandehey) Duss. He grew up in the Boyd area and in 1963 he moved to the Northern Center in Chippewa Falls, later moving to his current home in Eau Claire where he has resided since.
To all who knew him, Michael was a very gentle and loving young man and his greatest love was to get into a car and ride the countryside.
Michael is survived by: eight brothers and sisters, Juanita (Clarence) Fields of Richfield, Minn., Bernard Duss of Southhaven, Minn., Beverly (Doye) Sudduth of Tyler, Texas, Eugene (Barb) Duss of Wellington, Fla., Carol (Lynn) Donkersgoed of Eagan, Minn., Johanna Duss of Boyd, Roger Duss of Eau Claire, and Rose Duss of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; eight nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and a special Godmother, Florence Anderson.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Fernando in 2000, Romilda in 2004; and one brother, Kenneth in 1989.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for him at the Northern Center for so many years. A special thanks to Lutheran Services and to his extended family, his care workers at his home in Eau Claire for taking such wonderful care of him and to St. Joseph's Hospice for being there to make such a peaceful journey home to heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be donated to St. Joseph's Hospice or The Special Olympics Program.
