Joyce Mary Duss (nee Tennies)
June 7, 1943 – July 20, 2024
Joyce Duss completed her earthly journey on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry, of 37 years. Beloved mother of Jennifer (Brian) Albrecht and Karen. Sweet granny to Alexandra Albrecht, the sunshine of her life. Preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Audrey (Seegers) Tennies. Further survived by four siblings, Janet Crawford, Joan (James) Judziewicz, Patricia (Paul) Freischmidt, and Charles (Christine) Tennies, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 8:30 AM - 10:15 AM, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Committal service to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 3801 W. Morgan Ave., Milwaukee. Please meet inside the Chapel of Angels Mausoleum after Mass.
Joyce grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Messmer High School in 1961. She later moved to Waukesha in 1972 where she worked as an executive assistant at Waukesha Cutting Tools. She married Henry in 1978 and had two daughters soon after. For a few years, she was a stay-at-home mom, enjoying time with her daughters. She then worked as an assistant at Larkspur Galleries and later an underwriting assistant at Tower Special Facilities, from which she retired in 2008. Joyce was a faithful Catholic, devoted mother and granny, and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her presence and beautiful smile will be missed by many.
