Norma Kressin

August 15, 1939 - July 26, 2025

Norma Kressin (Woodcock) passed away peacefully at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls on July 26, 2025. She was born on August 15, 1939, at home in Sheldon in Rusk County. The family moved to Chippewa County when Norma was very young. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1957.

Norma married Roger Kressin at Zion United Methodist Church on November 15, 1997. They enjoyed traveling, volunteering at church, the Packers, visiting their cabin in Chetek and spending time with family. Norma was a member of several card clubs. She was an active member at Zion United Methodist Church and later, Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.

She was generous with her time and helped others when in need. She drove the elderly for appointments, created parties for residents at The Chippewa Manor and provided monetary gifts for the needs of the church and local community. She also volunteered for many years at the Senior Center in Chippewa Falls. Norma is deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews and was an active part of their lives.

Her career spanned many years with the Social Security Administration, holding a position in several locations including Rice Lake, Chicago, Wausau and other locations around the country before returning to Eau Claire to care for her elderly parents, where she ultimately retired.

Norma is survived by her brother, Bill Woodcock of Chippewa Falls; sisters, Micki (Gary) Rooney of Appleton and Judy (Bob) Boettcher of Chippewa Falls. She is further survived by her stepdaughter, Kailee (Andrew) Gaulrapp-Kressin of Eau Claire; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Cloe Woodcock; her husband, Roger Kressin in 2016; siblings, Russell (Sophie) Woodcock, Lawrence (Dorothy) Woodcock, Gail (Elmer) Sommerfeldt, Lyle (Lucille) Woodcock, Verda Frederick; sister-in-law, Cathy Woodcock; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Eddie Crise officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to Hope Village or Chippewa Falls Senior Center in memory of her name.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given by Dr. Vanyo, Dr. Philip, the staff at Our House and the staff at Heartland Hospice.
