Paul Layton Johnson, 77, Prairie du Chien, formerly of Elkader, Iowa died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, following a long illness.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty of Prairie du Chien; his children, Paula Kay (Lee) Embretson of Farmersburg, Iowa, Mark Allen Johnson, Prairie du Chien, Steven Earl (Lynn) Johnson of Onalaska, and Pamela Sue (Dennis) Freitag of Elkader; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Iris O'Neil of Rochelle, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Hope Lutheran Church, Littleport, Iowa with Rev. Paul Graham officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at East Side Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa. Friends may call on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader and after 10 a.m. at the church on Monday.
