Ruby M. Stipek

Ruby M. Stipek, age 71, of Cornell, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1941, the daughter of Lewis and Alvina (Ekum) Helland in Chippewa County.

Ruby grew up in the Cornell area and graduated from Cornell High School, where she met the love of her life, Dale Stipek, and they were united in marriage on April 19, 1968. Following marriage, they lived and farmed in the town of Arthur until they moved to their home in the town of Colburn, where Ruby grew up.

Ruby enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and harvesting vegetables, birds-especially feeding the hummingbirds, fishing and sewing.

Ruby is survived by: her husband, Dale Stipek; three daughters, Sue (Tim) Gingras, Tina (Denny) Bergeron, and Lynn (Bart) Boettcher; three sons, Terry Stipek, Joe (Kathy) Stipek and Jeff Stipek; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Helland; and also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son in infancy, a brother, Hans Helland, and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, at the Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Rev. George Olinske officiating.

Interment will take place in the Bohemian National Cemetery, town of Arthur.

Family and friends may call two hours before services Saturday Morning at the funeral home.
