Stanley S. Anderson, age 79, of Boyceville, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at his home after a 15-year battle with prostate cancer.
Stan was born Sept. 17, 1932, in the Township of Tiffany, Dunn County, to William C. and Alice (Orfgren) Anderson. He graduated from Boyceville High School in 1949.
Stan married Mary Louise Cook April 27, 1952. They farmed in the Boyceville area for many years. He was very active in Dunn County with politics and his community serving on several boards.
Following Mary Louise's death, he later married Eunice Olson Greenway on Jan. 9, 1988. They later moved back to the original homestead and built a walking trail; they called Anderson Hill Trail, a beautiful forest hike with a cliff view.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Mary Louise.
Stan is survived by his wife, Eunice Anderson, of Boyceville; children, Brent D. Anderson and wife JoAnne of Edina, Minn., Scott B. Anderson and wife Connie of Downing, David S. Anderson of Mound, Minn., and Kim L. Hintzman and husband Dennis of Menomonie; step-children, Merry Greenway of Minneapolis, Minn., Dr. Joy Vig and husband Dr. Steven of Tucson, Ariz., and Kelton Greenway of Madison; grandchildren, Jeff, Nick and Derrick Anderson, Eric, Mary and Jack Anderson, Sierra and Savanna Vig and Katie and Jake Greenway; and brother, William C. "Bud" Anderson and wife Audrey of Boyceville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 27, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, with Reverend Bradley Peterson officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville, at a later date.
Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
