Valeria A. Tiry
WAUSAU - Valeria A. Tiry, 93, of Wausau, WI, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, WI.
She was born on April 10, 1930 daughter of Eleanor and Martin Goettl in the Town of Edson.
Valeria grew up in the Cadott area and graduated from Cadott High School in 1948.
She was united in marriage to Richard Tiry on July 27, 1948 in Cadott at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughter, Diane (Charles) Buttke of Wausau; grandchildren: Bonnie (Lance) Tillett and Cyndy Buttke (Sherry Frostman); great-grandson, Will Tillett; sister, Margie Cunningham; and brother, Francis Goettl.
Valeria was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Martin and Eleanor Goettl, and a daughter in infancy, Judy Tiry, sisters: Julianne Nordlund, Oliva Goettl, Lorraine Arneson, Elsie Marcellis, Sally Macomber, Antoniette Henneman, Charlene Sagen and brother, Adam Goettl.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 415 N. Maple St., Cadott, WI with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating.
Interment will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Town of Sigel following the service.
A Visitation will be One hour prior to the services Thursday morning at the church.
