Joy King Obituary

Joy King, 85, of Christian County, KY died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bullard and Rev. Steve Hussung officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A native of Christian County, KY she was born January 3, 1940 the daughter of the late William Clarence Scott and Golden Fern Hale Scott. She was a homemaker and member of Olivet Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Henry "Zeke" King; her children: Diane King Guier, Karen King Brown, and Henry King; and her sisters: Juanita Almy and Rebecca Maydean Dossett. Survivors include her grandchildren: Meagan Brown (Cory) Bowling of Henderson, KY, Rachel Brown (Zach) Crick of Millersville, TN, Caleb (Lauren) Brown of Hopkinsville, KY, and Tabetha Guier of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren: Amity Bowling, Dixon King Bowling, and Kara Langley; and her sister: Shirley Myers (Paul) Kaufman of Hammond, IL. Memorial contributions are suggested to Olivet Baptist Church.
