CHRISTOPHER A. WRIGHT Christopher A. Wright, 75, has moved on to a place of no more pain. Christopher was born in New York City on October 14, 1948, to Alfred J. Wright, Jr. and Selysette Panzera. At a young age, Christopher was diagnosed with Morquio's syndrome, a rare connective tissue disease, which painfully and severely limited his mobility until the point that he could no longer walk. Christopher grew up in Lewiston, Maine, where he graduated from Bates College and later moved to Connecticut to study at Hartford Seminary, earning a masters degree in the History of Religions. While starting a young family, he studied for his Doctoral degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He and his then wife, E. Astuti Bijlefeld, decided to homestead, buying an old farmhouse on Bluff Point and constructing a life with their children. After an accident in the early '80s that caused him to lose his right leg, he developed a love for photography. Learning and teaching himself to master the art of black and white photography, specializing in portraits of family, and maternity, landscapes and still-life, he created his studio called Visions in Silver, exhibiting in galleries throughout the U.S. and Europe. Christopher relocated to Ithaca, N.Y., from 1992 to 2017 where he continued to share his interests and teach others on photographic development processes. Christopher enjoyed playing the guitar and collecting old instruments and antique cameras. In 2022, he was diagnosed with another rare disease, a cancer called Myelofibrosis, requiring regular blood and platelet transfusions. Christopher passed away at Keuka Comfort Care Home on April 17, 2024. He is survived by his beloved brother, Robin Wright of Florida, and siblings Timothy and Anne Wright of Maine. Christopher is the father of seven children, Raphael (married to Tamika), Joshua (Sara Purr), Micah (Itumeleng), Lydia (Richard Scheepsma), Johanna (Adam Hullings), Nathaniel and David (Isabela) Wright and 10 grandchildren. A celebration of Christopher's life will be held at a later date for friends and family who supported him throughout his journey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan, N.Y., or as a blood donation through the American Red Cross.
