HEATHER JAMES Heather James, 40, of Penn Yan, loving wife, mother, and daughter, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, at Keuka Comfort Care on June 25, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1983, in Geneva, N.Y. to her parents Jeffery and Stephanie Allison. Heather was devoted to family, and she cherished the time she spent with her husband Andre James and three sons, Joshua Smith (23), Ethan McIntyre (17), and Scott James (6). She loved nothing more than being able to spend quality time with them all. Heather dedicated much of her life to helping others as she worked as an LPN for Family Medicine at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. Her unwavering dedication to this career allowed Heather to touch many lives. She was known for being outspoken yet loving towards everyone she met. In addition to her work at the hospital, Heather was deeply committed to service within her community through volunteer organizations such as the The Hope Walk. She saw it as an opportunity not only to give back but also to connect with those around her. Her proudest accomplishments include the positive impact she had on people's lives both inside and outside of work. During her free time, Heather loved nothing more than being with her family and pets. She also enjoyed visiting the ocean and beaches, traveling with her family on vacations was a highlight. She was an accomplished cook and baker, known for her famous and unique potato salad. Heather lived a fulfilling life by her commitment to family, career, and community. She is survived by her husband Andre James, sons Joshua Smith, Ethan McIntyre, Scott James, mother Stephanie Foster, sister Kelly Allison, stepbrother Alex Foster, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, June 30 at Penn Yan Moose Lodge starting at 2 p.m. to honor Heather's life. Everyone was welcomed. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Glen View Cemetery in Pulteney.
