David Lynn Jones, 67, Houston, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his home. Born April 25,1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Kermit C. (Casey) and Wanda Jean (Farris) Jones, he grew up in Marion, Indiana, graduated from Marion High School in 1974 and attended Indiana Central College, where he played tennis.
David remained in Marion until 2003 before relocating to Houston, Texas to pursue his career in retail management. He retired in 2018.
During his years in Marion, he enjoyed fast-pitch softball and was an accomplished pitcher. His hobbies included fishing, golf, woodworking, photography and traveling to beach destinations. David continued learning, taking courses in drafting and photography, with photography becoming his favorite pastime. David had a quick sense of humor that will be missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica (Jones) Moore (Justin Moore), Richmond, Kentucky, Lauren Jones, Cincinnati, Ohio, grandson Mason Moore, granddaughter Mia Moore, sister, Jena (Jones) Adrianson, Greenwood, Indiana, nephew, Jacob Adrianson, Phoenix, Arizona, stepsons Brent Henry, League City, Texas, Garrett Henry, Friendswood, Texas, step granddaughter Audrey Henry, as well as two aunts and several cousins.
The family will celebrate David's life, privately, at a later date.

I knew Dave from High School and was in many school musicals with him. He was never less than kind and well liked by all. I later ran into when he was manager of a Marion dept store before he moved to Texas. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dave, I, and three other guys were the first male cheerleaders (at Marion High School). Actually, more like gymnastic props for the cheerleaders. We had a good time and he was a great guy. I am sorry for your loss.
