Gerald R Russell, 73 of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away Oct. 28, 2024. Gerald was born on August 23, 1951 to Hobart and Eunice (Lee) Russell. Gerald retired from USF Holland on March 1, 2021 after working over 20 years as an over the road truck driver.
Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. He was devoted husband and a loving father. He was huge animal lover. He and his wife Cheryl had 6 doges. Us kids were always teasing them, saying they loved the fur kids more than us. He also enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, mushroom hunting, and just being outdoors. He was loved by so many and will truly miss.
Gerald is survived by his wife Cheryl (Gladish) Russell, 3 daughters Shelly and Lindsay Armes, Gas City, Christy and Jay Pitcher, Petersburg, Jeanette Curtis, Petersburg. Son Eddie and Dusty Diskey, Petersburg. Stepson, Joshua and Amber Jobe, Alaska, Brother Allen (Whitey) Linda Russell of Claypool. Sister Linda (Russell) Eades, Wabash. Brother-in-Law, Steve Vian, Petersburg. 18 grandchildren, Jamie Nicholas, Mason, Bristol, Jonah, Londyn, Brazil, Aspyn, Adam, Jessica, Ernie, Chelsie, Zac, Blaine, Alley, Zoie, Kylie, Kiatta, Addy and Nate. Gerald also had 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved.
He was Preceded in death by his parents Hobart and Eunice Russell and sister Brenda (Russell) Vian.
