Louise Gibson, a devoted mother, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025 at the age of 90.
Born on June 24, 1934, in Johnson County, Arkansas, Louise was the daughter of Herbert and Grace (Warren) McCracken. She graduated from Converse High School in 1952 and went on to build a life rooted in family, faith, and hard work.
Louise married Bobby "Bob" G. Gibson on November 7, 1953 and together they raised two children, Patrick (Edwina) Gibson and Shirley (Charles) Huffman. Her family grew to include three grandchildren – David Gibson, Jeff (Kahyla) Gibson, and Aaron Huffman, and six great-grandchildren- all brought her immense joy.
Professionally, Louise served as the office manager at the Marion K-Mart until her retirement in 1995. Her dedication and steady presence were valued by colleagues and customers alike.
A faithful member of the Converse Church of Christ, Louise actively participated in church life through the Senior Saints group and contributed her time to the church's library committee. Her commitment to her faith community was a meaningful part of her life.
In her earlier years, Louise enjoyed sewing and was known for being a good cook. She found joy in flower gardening and took pride in nurturing beautiful blooms around her home. In quieter moments, she loved reading and working crossword puzzles.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob; her parents; and her brothers Lee McCracken and Ross McCracken.

Louise was a quiet, sweet jewel. We became friends in Miriam Circle at church. Her faith, presence, and smile made her a joy to be around.

Dear Shirley, Patrick, and families,
So sorry I will not be able to attend the services for Louise. I have minor surgery scheduled for that morning. I remember going to the Senior Saints meetings with my late husband, Jim, and he and your Dad would find out who had birthdays that month. We would then try to sit at the same table as the birthday person. (That table always got to go through the food line first!) It became a running joke with the two of them and your Mom and I would enjoy it with them. They were both special people. Louise's quietness and Bob's jocularity made them fun to be around! We missed Bob and now I will certainly miss Louise. My sincere sympathy to all of you!
