Shirley Maksimowicz Obituary
Shirley Ann Maksimowicz, 85, passed away July 10, 2023. She was born in Chesaning, Michigan on December 4, 1937 to the late Jacob and Rose (Jurmanovich) Dorn.
She is survived by her children, Leslie West and Natalie Maksimowicz, Dean Maksimowicz, Kristi Camasta.
Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion. The song service will follow at 11am with congregational singing and message from Pastor Bode. The services will conclude with the committal at 1pm in Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana. Online condolences may be made at www. owenweilertduncan.com.

Shirley and I became fast friends in 1976 while members of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Reno, NV. She was the epitome of a Christian wife and mother. I longed to be like her, dedicated to God first, and everything else second. We kept in close touch as they moved from Reno to Texas, and ending up in Indiana. She corresponded with beautiful letters, and encouragement when needed. We lost touch for the past 3 years or so, not knowing she lost Phil, and eventually her illness, too. I wish I could change that. I know without a doubt she is enjoying Heaven, along with the presence of her Lord and Savior, and family members who have passed years ago. She will always be in our hearts. God bless her children and grandchildren who are left behind for now. Remember her well!
