I grew up in the same neighborhood as Tom and his brothers. We also milked cows as did they. I went to Roll High School with Tom and his brothers and played on the same basketball team. I feel privileged to have known Tom and his brothers. I knew Tom when he worked at Huffman Implements and, later, for Calvin Clamme. He always had a smile and a friendly word. He never seemed down or complained. Later, when I returned to the community as superintendent, I saw Tom at numerous athletic events. He was there with his son-in-law and grandchildren. Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Blackford County is a better place because of people like Tom and his brothers. I will miss him.
